“Mark arrived on time and carried out a full survey and gave me good explanations of the root causes and proposed corrective actions. The report provided the same day with detailed analysis of several issues. We’ve not yet been able to confirm that the proposal will solve the problem, because the suggested works in the proposal are quite expensive and disruptive, but I do believe the Mark has identified the roots of the problem. “Alpine Surveys undertook a thorough survey to investigate the cause of a damp patch. The surveyor inspected the internal and external walls and took measurements of the relative damp and moisture content. We received a report with the measurements and thermal images to show the extent of the damp spread. The report also contained recommendations to rectify the issue. The surveyor was very helpful and took time to explain the issues and his recommendations. This is very helpful before we speak to any builders, to make sure they diagnose the problem and undertake the correct work.”

“I have instructed Alpine Surveys to complete two surveys in the last month on behalf of my company Censeo Property, one for a property we are buying and the other on behalf of a client. Both are basement flats. I had the same surveyor for both properties, he arrived on time and worked systematically through the properties using both damp meters and thermal imaging. The reports produced were detailed and specifically the Thermal Imaging allows for non-invasive investigation, which has been very useful to my client to allow for the eliminations of some of the potential causes of the damp”

The initial survey was postponed the day before due to surveyors becoming unavailable due to COVID reasons – something that was inconvenient but understandable. 2nd time was the charm and the surveyor was on time. He conducted an in-depth survey, explained what he was doing and seeing whilst doing so, which gave me additional insight into what we will need to do. The report came back promptly with the recommendations and Alpine survey provided additional clarifications and cost estimates after asking for them. Overall, very happy with Alpine survey.

From my initial phone call enquiry, to the actual day of the damp survey and then some follow-up advice to some questions I had after receiving the report, Alpine Surveys provide a complete professional service. Mark knows his stuff for sure, a true damp detective who has a wealth of knowledge in this field. We learnt a lot during the survey, Mark explained things clearly as he was carrying out his investigation. He gets to the route of the damp issue rather than trying to recommend a short term fix such as wall injections or installing membranes that don’t allow the walls to breathe.

A very professional firm. I found them reliable and honest in my dealings with them. The price they quoted me for the work carried out was the price they charged. The surveyor carried out a through examination of the interior and exterior of the bathroom and explained to me what he had found. This was followed up the next day by the report electronically sent to me and detailing what had been surveyed with recommendations. I was impressed with their professionalism and expertise and would have no hesitation in using them for any further surveys I required in my house.

We are currently in the process of a house purchase, with numerous damp and structural issues. The services offered by Alpine Damp were much more attractive vs. An intrusive damp survey, as they have state of the art equipment to detect any damp/rot issues. Despite a very busy environment at the moment, a very detailed and thorough report was turned over within 48h . Overall, very happy with the quality of the report and turnover time, the team were very knowledgeable and happy to explain and answer all questions we had.

The survey took about an hour, using damp monitors and heat loss cameras. When he had finished he talked me through his findings and showed me the relevant heat-loss pictures under the eaves. He discussed how we should manage condensation from bathroom and kitchen. All made good logical sense. HAs really put my mind at rest. Absolutely, I would recommend Alpine Surveys. Sarah was really informative on what was included and what options for the survey were available. On the day mark arrived on time. Really friendly and helpful.
